SInce things on the Internet spread like wildfire, I'm posting this here. This was part of the farewell message my friend Diane sent at work. It's a great theory about how to celebrate your birthday:

I would like for you to help me spread the word about my new birthday celebration theory. It disturbs me when people are upset about aging; I think we should embrace our age and celebrate–a day for each year we have lived. So, for instance, if you were born on January 1 and are 29 on your birthday, you can celebrate for 29 days. The celebration doesn’t have to be major. You can actually use it as a trump card. If you’re asked to do something you don’t want to do, you can say, “Hmm, I really don’t think so. I’m still celebrating my birthday.”

Someday I want to be in line at the grocery store in Asheville, North Carolina, and hear two people behind me talking about this cool birthday celebration theory they heard about.

Spread the word!
